There are two types of beach goers: one who brings a tent, a change of clothes, a beach chair, food for the entire day, books, activities, multiple blankets, and drinks, and another who brings a towel and sunscreen.

My dad was the former, and I was the latter. But now, as a mom lugging my kids to the sand, I have found a middle ground.
