A Few of My Favorite Things

With so many choices for haircare, skincare, and makeup, it can be challenging to find the best products--the ones that make you feel beautiful and look good. From splurges to steals, I have compiled a list of some of my favorite products that you HAVE to try.

Skincare

A refreshing facial scrub comprised of sea-kelp, lemon peel, French green clay, sage, blackberry and Madonna lily that softens, detoxifies, cleanses, and brightens your face. The aroma is invigorating and a welcoming and refreshing way to start your day. My skin has never felt softer since using this scrub--plus, it's a steal!

A shimmery, velvety cleanser that removes impurities, environmental elements, and surface oils. Be Balanced is ideal for normal and combination skin, targeting large pores and offering age control benefits. Since using this cleanser, my skin is noticeably brighter and has a more even tone.

A lightweight water-cream made with Rejuveniqe S and hyaluronic acid that targets loss of radiance, firmness, and elasticity, and helps to soften and smooth your skin. I cannot stress how much I love this moisturizer. It makes my skin velvety soft, and it is THE perfect moisturizer for under your makeup--no stickiness at the end of the day. Since using this, I have fewer fine lines, refined pores, and a much brighter complexion.

Makeup

A velvety primer that targets imperfections and large pores for a smooth makeup application. I received this primer in the Allure Beauty Box and was very skeptical of it--but it has since become my favorite go-to primer. It reduces the appearance of large pores and works well under makeup. I also really like that it comes in a jar with a screw-on lid--unusual for a primer container, but it works best for its texture.

A concealer that can also be used for contour and highlight, this product offers natural, crease-free super coverage and is infused with coconut, water, alpine rose, and hyaluronic acid. I originally visited Sephora to purchase Shape Tape (since everyone on Instagram swears it's the best concealer on the market), but the beauty gurus insisted that the Too Faced concealer was far more superior. It offers bright coverage, doesn't crease, and lasts forever (which is amazing since this is a splurge).

This is THE BEST mascara. It helps make your lashes appear longer in two steps--the first nourishes, the second lengthens with "tube" technology. What I really love about this mascara (besides how long my lashes look) is that it stays on my lashes. I have very long lower lashes, and this is the only mascara I've ever used that did not leave black lines on my upper cheeks by the end of the day. Plus, it's affordable!

An award-winning liquid eyeliner that gave me the confidence to finally learn how to apply the perfect winged liner. The brush tip is flexible, yet stiff--allowing you to bend in all the right places without any straggler bristles leaving black marks in their wake.

A micro mechanical brow pencil that coats fine hairs, allowing you to create a natural-looking brow. It's easy to apply and looks natural--especially after brushing out your brows with the attached spoolie brush. What I love about this pencil is that it doesn't break off easily, and it's affordable. After years of using high-end options, I discovered that NYX's version was just as good, if not better.

Haircare

A masque that infuses hair with natural oils, vitamins, and minerals and replenishes depleted amino acids. Every time I use this masque, my hair feels silky and is noticeably sleeker and shinier when styled. Because of my coarse, curly hair, I have tried so many masques, and this one is the best I've ever used.

A detangler that strengthens and protects hair from breakage while providing frizz control. I used to spend nearly 15 to 20 minutes carefully combing out my freshly washed hair while pulling and breaking hair off into my brush. I tried every detangler I could find in the store, and none of them ever worked. This detangler not only smells good, but allows me to effortlessly brush out my wet hair in seconds.

A dry shampoo that freshens, conditions, absorbs oil, and adds volume without gross, white residue. I thought dry shampoo just wasn't for me--every type I tried made my head itchy and my hair feel brittle. But this dry shampoo is lightweight and effective, and doesn't make me worry that it's drying out my strands.
